The structure was built just after the year 1000 in an area where there were already ancient Etruscan and Roman settlements: a short distance from the farm in fact Etruscan tombs and Roman Domus have been found .
Over the centuries the structure has been expanded several times using stones from the surrounding materials and fired on site (as evidenced by the discovery of an ancient furnace). Still you can find in the structure materials dating from 1500 and 1600.
The structure took its present form around 1700 when it was again expanded and used as a primary school for children who came from the surrounding countryside. Bonello has since then played an important role throughout the life of the nearby countryside. It was the place where housewives met to bake bread, cakes, donuts and prepared pasta and roast waiting for the children who were at school , it was the place to play and meet the families.
With the crisis of the peasant civilization, Bonello also gradually lost its former glory and for many years it was used as storage for agricultural machinery and grain.
In 1969 the property was purchased by the Savelli family who has been dedicated to agricultural activities for 4 generations and provided restructuring since 2001.
Currently the farm has been restored in all its parts, uncovering and restoring antique architectural details and original materials that had remained hidden for years due to the neglect of time and people
Today, customers can travel back in time, every stone tells its story and that of people who every day and century after century lived there and it's easy to imagine children running in the yard or the housewives’ voices who cook bread in front of the large oven telling old stories and legends of imaginary characters.
